Here is our new deck that we have been working so hard on, it's almost finished. The deck is supported by fir beams, deck boards and railing are all natural cedar. We covered the deck with a pergola type roof and on top of this we installed Polycarbonate panels to keep the rain out and to protect us from harmful ultraviolet rays but still give us full light. Our Grape vine is taking root in it's new location and we hope that it will cover the far end of the deck. That’s it for now!

Update (July 5th 2009): The deck has now become our favourite hangout... new features include lots of flowering plants, rain chain, wood stove, wooden chimes and our guard cat in the corner...what's next gnomes in the garden, I don't think so!

Update (Aug 1st 2009): Well I think we are just about done, at least I am :-). We can't wait for evening to fall so we can sit and enjoy the hummingbirds that visit every day, and at night we light the candles and relax until we can't keep our eyes open anymore.
